Electronic Equipment Insurance Policy

This policy provides cover for the following: 

  • Physical loss or damage of electronic equipment due to unforeseen circumstances, whereby it is no longer able to carry out its intended function;
  • Loss of electronic equipment due to theft, burglary or robbery;
  • Labour costs (overtime, nightshift);
  • Airfreight from abroad;

Traveling expenses for engineers/consultants from abroad.

Optional extensions of the Electronic Equipment Insurance Policy: 

  • Necessary costs for automatic re-entry of data and programmes from back-up data media following loss, damage or destruction to data media;
  • Automatic or manual re-entry of data and programmes from original documents still available to the insured following loss, damage or destruction to data media;
  • Replacement of standard programme data following loss, damage or destruction to data media;
  • Replacement of data media following loss, damage or destruction;
  • Lease/hire of substitute facilities;
  • Utilisation of alternative equipment;
  • Resetting of equipment;
  • Damage or destruction of media following electromagnetic disturbances;
  • Damage or destruction of data media following damage/failure of EDP or supply system;
  • Loss of Profits.


Public Liability Insurance Policy 

All Sums which the insured shall become legally liable to pay for compensation in respect of: 

  • Accidental bodily injury to any person other than an employee occurring in connection with the business and within the insured premises;
  • Accidental loss of or damage to any third party property occurring in connection with the business and within the insured premises;
  • Cost and expenses of litigation incurred with the written consent of the Company;
  • Cost and expenses of litigation recoverable by any claimant against the Insured.


Exclusions of the Public Liability Policy: 

  • Contractual liability;
  • Property in the care, custody or control of the insured;
  • Products liability and defective work;
  • Motor insurance as required by Law;
  • Liability arising from any ship vessel or aircraft;
  • Liability in connection with goods and premises which are no longer in the insured's possession prior to the loss;
  • War, radioactive contamination, damage caused by vibration, removal and weakening of support;
  • Professional Indemnity.


Employers Liability Insurance Policy

Definition of "Employee": 

  • Any person under a contract of service or apprenticeship with the Insured;
  • Any of the following persons while working for the Insured in connection with the business:
    • any self-employed providing labour only;
    • any self-employed who is borrowed by or hired to the Insured.


All Sum/s which the insured shall become legally liable to pay for compensation in respect of:

  • Death or bodily Injury of an employee arising out of and in the course of his employment;
  • Claimants costs and expenses;
  • Costs and expenses incurred with the Company’s written consent.


  • The Insured’s liability to employees of contractors to the Insured;
  • Any liability of the insured which attaches by virtue of an agreement but which would not have attached in the absence of such agreement;
  • Any sum which the insured would have been entitled to recover from any party but for an agreement between the insured and such party;
  • Any liability of the insured to pay compensation to an employee or to the legal representatives or dependents of an employee by virtue of any workmen’s compensation law;
  • War, radioactive contamination.


Contractors "All Risks" Insurance Policy

The Contractors "All Risks" Policy covers the physical loss or damage to:

  • Materials used in construction;
  • Works or temporary works used in construction contracts;
  • Plant, tools and equipment used in construction contacts.

The policy may also be extended to cover:

  • Legal liability to third parties for bodily injury and/or property damage;
  • Strike, riot and civil commotion;
  • Cross liability;
  • Maintenance visits;
  • Extended maintenance;
  • Extra charges for overtime, night work and express freight;
  • Airfreight;
  • Own surrounding property;
  • Inland transit;
  • Vibration, removal or weakening of support;
  • Losses due to defective material, workmanship or faulty design.


Hoteliers' Combined Insurance Policy 

The Hoteliers' Combined Insurance Policy covers buildings and contents, revenue and liabilities of the hotel as well as other specified contingencies.

The policy has a wide range of covers: 

  • Accidental physical loss or damage to:
    • Buildings and contents
    • Radios, televisions
    • Business and trade machinery
    • Glass, signs and sanitary fixtures
    • Chilled/refrigerated stock
    • Stocks in transit
    • Machinery, boiler and pressure plant (engineering) 
  • Loss of rent;
  • Loss of revenue following accidental physical loss or damage;
  • Loss of revenue following engineering losses;

Fire and Perils Insurance Policy 

This policy covers:

The loss of or damage to the Property Insured or any part of such Property be destroyed or damaged by FIRE or LIGHTNING at any time during the period of insurance.

Special Perils Extension

The Fire Policy is extended to cover the following Perils: 

  • Explosion;
  • Aircraft and other aerial devices;
  • Impact with the property insured;
  • Storm or Tempest;
  • Flood;
  • Bursting or overflowing of Water Tanks Apparatus or Pipes;
  • Riot, Civil Commotion Strikes Locked-out Works Malicious Persons;
  • Earthquake.


Theft Insurance Policy 

This policy covers:

The Insured in respect of loss of, or damage to the property insured caused by:

  1. THEFT or any attempt thereat following upon or followed by forcible and violent entry or exit to or from the Premises;
  2. HOLD-UP BY VIOLENCE and/or THREATS OF VIOLENCE to the Insured or his employees including the cost of making good damage to the Premises as a result of the above perils for which the Insured is liable.


This Policy does not cover:

  • Loss of or damage due to theft or any attempt thereat by or in collusion with any member of the Insured’s family, business  staff, domestic servants or any other person lawfully on the premises;
  • Loss of or damage to occasioned by or happening through riot, civil commotion, war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power;
  • Goods held in trust or on commission, jewels, curiosities, prints, paintings, drawings, sculptures, deeds, money, securities, stamps, documents, manuscripts, business books, patterns, models, moulds, plans, designs or computer systems records unless specially mentioned as insured by this Policy.


Money Insurance Policy 

The Policy covers: 

    1. Loss of Money by any cause;
    2. The cost of repair or replacement of the Safe or Strong room not otherwise insured directly associated with any theft or attempted theft there from occurring during the Period of Insurance.

Definition of Money:

Cash, bank and currency notes, cheques, postal and money orders, current postage stamps and bankers drafts telephone cards all belonging to the Insured or for which he is responsible.


This Policy does not cover losses arising out of:

  • War;
  • Radioactive contamination;
  • Occurring outside the Maltese Islands;
  • Caused by aircraft or by pressure waves;
  • If loss not discovered within seven working days;
  • Fidelity Guarantee;
  • Losses from unattended vehicles;
  • Loss occasioned by the dishonesty or lack of integrity of a principal or employee of the Insured;
  • Earthquake.


Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy 

This Policy covers the Insured Person if he/she sustains Bodily Injury caused by external violent and visible means which shall cause Death or Disablement or Medical Expenses within twelve months from the date of accident which one injury was caused.

Compensation is payable if: 

  • Death occurs within twelve months of the date of accident;
  • Loss of sight/limb occurs within twelve months of the date of accident;
  • Permanent Total Disablement where the Insured person becomes totally disabled within twelve months of the accident and such disablement lasts for twelve months.


Loss of Sight shall mean total loss of sight of any eye which has lasted 3 months of the Insured person's lifetime and is at the end of that period beyond hope of improvement.

Loss of Limb shall mean loss by physical separation of a hand at or above the wrists or of a foot at or above the ankle which the Insured Person has survived for at least a month.

Permanent Total Disablement shall mean a disablement which permanently completely and continuously prevents the Insured person from attending to business or occupation of any and every kind and which having lasted 104 weeks of the Insured Person's lifetime is at the end and beyond hope of improvement.

Temporary Total Disablement shall mean a disablement which continuously prevents the Insured person from attending to his usual occupation.

Medical Expenses shall mean reasonable medical surgical hospital nursing home and nursing fees or charges necessarily incurred following an Accident to an Insured Person.


  • Suicide, intentional self-injury, intoxication or insanity of or the influence of drugs or Wilful exposure to needless risks;
  • Pregnancy or childbirth;
  • War;
  • Any pre-existing physical defect or infirmity;
  • Engagement in military, naval or air service or operations, motor cycling, hunting, winter sports, mountaineering, rock climbing, pot-holing, skin diving, riding or driving in any kind of race or endurance test, or aviation (other than a fare paying passenger);
  • Engagement in any gainful occupation which has not been notified to the Insurers.


Personal Accident Insurance Policy

The Personal Accident Policy covers you if you accidentally incur a bodily injury. The bodily injury, which you might incur, could result in death, loss of sight, loss of limbs, permanent, and temporary or partial disablement.

The policy will pay according to the type of injury and on the basis of the benefit levels indicated in your policy. 

For an additional premium, reasonable medical expenses following bodily injury will also be paid. The policy is subject to terms, conditions and exceptions.

Summary of Cover:

The policy covers any person who is gainfully occupied and the premium is usually related to the benefits selected under the policy in connection with: 

  • Death;
  • Loss of sight of both eyes or loss of two or more limbs or loss of sight of one eye and one limb;
  • Loss of one eye or one limb;
  • Permanent total disablement according to disability scale;
  • Permanent partial disablement according to nature and scale of disability;
  • Temporary total or partial disablement according to nature and scale of disability;
  • Reasonable medical expenses following bodily injury;
  • Disappearance of insured person.
