Laferla Health Insurance Policies now include an exclusive MEDIPHONE 24 Hours Service at no extra charge. This service is provided by Laferla Assist and is applicable for all Private Hospital and International cover plans.

In case you need medical advice, now you will be able to consult the medical team of Laferla Assist about any pathological situation over the phone, using our dedicated call centre number 2248 0202 – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The information provided by the medical team will be an orientation and not a treatment.

One may need to request medical information about the following:

• Consultations about medical emergencies and first aid treatments
• Information about medicines’ prescriptions
• Baby care and maternity orientation
• Health and Diet recommendations
• Advice on preventive medicine
• Medical report translation to a common understandable language

Laferla Assist can also provide Service Coordination as follows:

• Contact with emergency services and medical emergency
• Information on public and private medical centres in Malta and worldwide
• Delivery of medicines. The insured will bear the cost of the service, which will include the transport and the cost of the medicine
• Home delivery of taxis/ambulances. Laferla Assist will send the taxi or the ambulance to the insured’s home as soon as possible. Insured will bear the cost of the service
• Coordination of Doctors/Nurses

In case the insured needs, for any reason, the service of a general practitioner and/or a nurse at his home, he can call Laferla Assist on 2248 0202, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and ask them to send a doctor.

Laferla Assist will send a general practitioner and/or a nurse to the insured’s home as soon as possible. The insured will bear the cost of the service, which will be based on the preference rates that the Company has agreed with that professional. In case of eligible claims, Laferla Insurance Agency Ltd. will refund the amount claimed, to the insured, once a claim has been presented to Laferla Insurance for payment.
